Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman Screening & Green Prize Awards Photos

Thank you for attending the Environmental Documentary Screening of Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman & Green Prize Awards!

The Green Prize is a book award, presented by Santa Monica's Public Library and the Office of Sustainability and the Environment. In 2007, the Green Prize was created in order to recognize the authors, illustrators, photographers and publishers whose goal is to broaden the public's awareness of sustainability. Both adult and children's books are honored. To date, the Green Prize for Sustainable Literature has recognized over a hundred titles.

Based on a book by best-selling author Miriam Horn of Environmental Defense Fund, Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman was directed by Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Susan Froemke and Emmy winner John Hoffman, and narrated by award-winning journalist Tom Brokaw. Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman tells the inspiring story of heartland conservation heroes who are feeding the world while stewarding the land and water.

We had an amazing panel discussion and many solutions were given. As always, our goal is to educate but just as important is to follow that education up with action. Here are the action items we offered at the film screening.

We encourage you to:

1. Support local farmers, shop at your neighborhood Farmers Market
2. When purchasing Seafood, make sure it is Sustainably sourced
3. Get active – support a cause you are passionate about
4. Share the actions you’re committing to with us via social media

Please make a commitment to do something and share it with us; Post on Sustainable Works Facebook Wall, Tweet with our handle @sustainablework, connect at #sustainablesm or send us an email gina.garcia@sustainableworks.org
