What does Sustainable Transit mean to you?

 

 

Purpose

The Sustainable City Plan was created to enhance our resources, prevent harm to the natural environment and human health, and benefit the social and economic well-being of the community for the sake of current and future generations

Background Information

  • Proposed by City staff and the Task Force on the Environment in 1992
  • Adopted by City Council in September 1994
  • Comprehensive Program Update and Expansion in adopted in 2003
  • Annual status reports using the indicators

The Plan includes eight Goal Areas which, taken together, present a vision for sustainability in the community:

  • Environmental and Public Health
  • Transportation
  • Economic Development
  • Open Space and Land Use
  • Housing
  • Community Education and Participation
  • Human Dignity
